Our Team Leaders

Doug Sims

CEO

Doug purchased C. E. Thurston & Sons, Inc. in December 2010. He began his career with Industrial Supply Corporation (ISC), an industrial service and products distributor, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia.

Upon receiving the opportunity to purchase ISC from its retiring owners in 1998, ISC grew into the largest independent company of its type in the region, doing business with several fortune 500 companies. In 2008, Doug sold the business as the industry was in a high consolidation business cycle. Upon coming to CET in 2010, Doug’s goal is to build a team atmosphere, among tenured associates, in order to grow CET into the market share leader it once was in its region.

Richard Drew

Graduated from Virginia Tech with an Accounting Degree; Richard began his employment with C. E. Thurston in January 1995 as a Technical Sales Representative. He was promoted to Insulation Manager in April 2002. He terminated employment with CET in October 2006 and returned as an Estimator/Technical Sales Representative in January 2011.

Richard was promoted in July 2013 and is currently our President. As President, he oversees all of the operating and estimating associates and their functions of the company.
